Heating & Storing

All of our pies, scones, tea cakes, meats, and puddings are frozen at the height of freshness. For many shipping orders the food may be thawed upon arrival, that's ok! Unpack your boxes and get them into the freezer and store them until you're ready to enjoy.

Our baked goods are all fully cooked and should be reheated.

For the best results, please avoid using the microwave. Oven or Air Fryer are much preferred.

All items can be refrigerated for 1-2 days, or frozen for up to 12 months. If you receive a shipping order, we recommend freezing all savory items immediately. All items - except Shortbread - should be frozen.

INDIVIDUAL SAVORY PIES & SAUSAGE ROLLS

For best results, we recommend thawing pies overnight in the refrigerator before baking.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 15-20 minutes or if items are frozen, 35-40 minutes. If frozen, items should be covered in foil for the first 20-25 minutes of baking. Internal temperature should be at least 165 degrees.

Our pies can also be reheated in an air fryer. Given the discrepanices between air fryer performance, we cannot give overarching recommendations for all air fryers.

STEAK PIES (Seasonal - available November through January)

Preheat oven to 350°F. Place on a baking sheet.

If thawed, bake for approximately 20 mnutes. From frozen, bake for approximately 25-30 minutes. Internal temperature should reach at least 165 degrees.

HAGGIS

If frozen, defrost in fridge overnight before heating.
Preheat oven to 325°F. Wrap haggis in foil and place in
baking dish. Heat for 60 min. per pound of haggis.

Haggis Trays (300g) should be baked for about 30-45 minutes from frozen.

Internal temperature should be at least 165 degrees fahrenheit.

BLACK PUDDING AND MEALIE PUDDING

If frozen, thaw overnight. We recommend slicing the puddings into 1-1.5 inch pieces and pan frying the pieces in butter or oil. Alternatively, if the puddings are frozen, you can steam them whole. DO NOT STEAM THE PUDDINGS IF CUT.

Trays of puddings should be heated to an internal temperature of 165 whether you heat the entire tray or prepare the pudding in slices.

BANGERS, SLICED SAUSAGE, CUMBERLAND SAUSAGE

These items are RAW and must be cooked prior to eating. Our sausages are versatile, so any preparation will suit them. We love to grill our sausages, but traditionally, they are pan fried.

NEEPS AND TATTIES

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Remove cover. Heat for approximately 30 mins or until heated to your liking.

SCONES

Scones can be thawed and eaten at room temperature with clotted cream and jam. Alternatively, scones are wonderful toasted. A few minutes in a toaster oven will warm them nicely. If you prefer scones more toasted, then toast to your preference.

We do not recommend heating scones from frozen. If you are reheating from frozen, watch them closely as they may burn. Bake at 350 for 10-20 minutes depending on desired doneness.

FRUITCAKES, IRISH SODA BREAD

These items are excellent served at room temperature. They're also perfect for slicing and toasting. It's really up to you!
